Re: Can issues with pivot tables not refreshing properly using Office plug in?

Hello Caroline,

aside from the question about your version of Analysis for Office, your description of the problem probably misses some important details. Let's try to find some answers then, ok?

First) Please check the definition for the Pivot tables sourcedata. What is entered in the Field for Table / Range. If a Range like 'Sheet1!$A1$:F$255' is entered, does it match the Range of your Query crosstab before and after a refresh of the query or a change to the prompts and filters?

Second) If there is just a name given in the Pivot Tables datasource definition and not a Excel Range, please check the exact spelling and let us know.
Next check the crosstabs formula alias in the Analysis Design Panel and let us know. You can find it in the Components Tab of the Analysis Design Panel by clicking on the crosstabs entry in the tree navigation. Please check, which of the four checkboxes are checked, and which are not. Does the formula alias of the crosstab match the name given in the Pivot Tables datasource definition or is it something like SAP<your crosstabs formula alias>?

Third) Does your workbook use any macros connected to the Query, its crosstab or the Pivot Table?

Fourth) If you try and insert the specific query, with its selection and filters into an new Analysis workbook without a Pivot Table. Does its crosstab behave the same upon a refresh, as the one in problematic workbook? Is the new data displayed in the same way?

Kind Regards,

Werner Mittrup
