1) Shut down

"..

Set this indicator if you want to shut down the asset for the displayed
period of time.

..."

No depreciation will be calculated for assets that have been shut down when
you use an appropriate depreciation key.

Dear customer,

For shutdown there are 2 settings relevant.

a) In Asset master data you have set the flag for shutdown.
b) In depr. Key you have to set "Shutdown. Yes"

ad a)
Master data
   -> time depended
      -> Below you find the checkbox for shutdown

F1 Help:
"...
Asset shutdown
Set this indicator if you want to shut down the asset for the
displayed period of time.
No depreciation will be calculated for assets that have been shut
down when you use an appropriate depreciation key.
.."

Below you find the button "Intervalls" where you can say when the system
should not calculate any interest and depreciation.

2) Shift factor

Depreciation = fixe depreciation +    (variable depreciation * shift factor)

Example:

Depreciation: 1000

variable percentage: 60%

shift factor 0: 400 + (0 * 60 * 1000/100) = 400 (only fix depreciation)

shift factor 1: 400 + (1 * 60 * 1000/100) = 1000

shift factor 2: 400 + (2 * 60 * 1000/100) = 1600

shift factor 3: 400 + (3 * 60 * 1000/100) = 2200

To specify variable depr. I might ask you to go to:

AS02

-> select Asset

-> go to Deprec areas

-> double click on the relevant depr. area

Here you see: Variable depreciation portion

If you can not see the field, check the screen layout rule:

-> Environment

-> Screen layout

-> Depreciation areas

best regards

Bernhard
