Issue with Configuring Launchpad for Customized menus

Hello GRC mates.

I am trying to configure my own launchpad for MSMP so that I can start the same from NWBC rather than going through SPRO by going through the following post

Customizing NWBC for New Menus with our own Transactions, Reports and Accessing SAP Backend Systems from NWBC

While configuring i am getting struck at the field System Alias.

Can I create a System Alias. If So, Where?

Also, I don't have EP in my landscape.

Is it mandatory to have EP if I need to configure my own launch pad?

Looking forward for some help in this regard to move further.
