V_MACO not suitable for archiving SD_VBAK?

With transaction V_MACO I want complete status of my sales orders to archive all my sales documents afterwards.

I assume that the status C in field VBUK-MANEK will be ignored cause report S3VBAKPTS looks for VBUK-GBSTK.

My questions:

1. Whats the real benefit using V_MACO (I know note 801065) if it's not usable to archive SD_VBAK? Even using the tcode VA05N (open sales orders) the sales document is shown in the list although VBUK-MANEK = 'C'.
2. Is there another possibilty to complete sales orders (in general like "V_MACO") to archive them (not using SNOTE 1472007)
