If you doing an update then it is consider a PATCH to SP12, see below
Why NOT test BI 4.2 w/ SP2, it went GA on Mar 4th 2016
or
Even BI 4.1 w/ SP7, it's been out for a while.
For in-place update you would down from same suggest above.
